The new French social sciences laboratory established in Warsaw

IRECA (French research institute on Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Northern Asia) is a research institute in the humanities and social sciences within the IFRE/UMIFRE network (under the joint auspices of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and the CNRS).

Its main mission is to support French researchers and researchers from the countries concerned who work on the region in the humanities and social sciences disciplines (history, sociology, ethnology, anthropology, political science, linguistics, economics, geography, etc.).

About IRECA

Based in Warsaw (Poland), it also includes an office in Tbilisi (Georgia).

Its geographical scope extends to Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

The Tbilisi office of IRECA aims to support French research in the humanities and social sciences on the Caucasus and to develop partnerships with researchers and higher education and research institutions in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
